So I'm re-listening to the GoF audiobook and it's actually baffling how much of hogwarts is a safeguarding nightmare.

We all know the larger examples e.g. students can enter the triwizard tournament without parental permission but harry can't go to hogsmeade.

However, it's horrifying and low key terrifying that anyone can send owls directly to the students without any sort of vetting process. Hermione is physically harmed by bubotuber pus via post after Rita's article. I really don't know how Dumbledore gets away with this?
