Plans for a more than $1-billion redevelopment of the former Lakeforest Mall in Gaithersburg, Md., are running into design conflicts over stormwater systems, roadway geometry and transit coordination as early infrastructure moves through review. Early infrastructure work spans roughly 100 acres, with about 94 acres of disturbance, including relocating an 84-in.-dia storm drain, reconfiguring stormwater ponds and basin systems, and rough grading with frontage work along Odendhal Avenue, according to site plan submission documents prepared by Rodgers Consulting.
