Mike Miron is the Department’s Committee Management Officer (CMO) and Director of White House and Secretary Initiatives. In this role he oversees the Department’s federal advisory committee program. Prior to becoming the CMO he served for 19 years as the Deputy Executive Director of the Homeland Security Advisory Council.
Prior to joining the Department in May of 2003, Mike served at the White House in the Office of Homeland Security leading a subcommittee on the President’s Homeland Security Advisory Council. Mike also served as a Senior International Trade Specialist at the U.S. Department of Commerce where he served in the International Trade Administration’s Advocacy Center.
Mr. Miron lives in Springfield, Virginia with his wife and four daughters. On the weekends he can be found on the local soccer fields refereeing soccer games.
