Here’s what’s new for Maps users. #1: ‘Suggested Places’ feature in search screen One of my favorite new features in iOS 26.5 is the addition of ‘Suggested Places’ in Apple Maps. ‘Suggested Places’ adds two recommended places to Maps’ search screen every time you tap the search bar to perform a search. These recommendations are based on two main factors: What’s trending nearby Your recent search history Suggested Places tend to refresh often—in my experience nearly every time I open the search screen. So if you’re looking for spots near you, the two recommendations will be based in your local area.
