My alocasia is flowering!!

I didn’t even know they did that, and apparently it’s not super common. And there are three flowers!

I have a long history of plants dying in my care… I’ve even killed a few snake plants. 😬 But after I left an abusive situation, I wanted to try again and started filling my new place with plants. I got an alocasia with one leaf (still there, it’s the large one by itself) from the clearance rack at Lowes about a year ago. It’s been going gangbusters ever since, and now there are three beautiful flowers and so many gorgeous leaves.

It’s thriving in this new, safe environment, and so am I. I almost cried when I saw this flower first starting to show up. Does life reflect plants, or do plants reflect life?
