Doing Lake Placid this year, during training , even on an “easy ride” I like to take the climbs a little harder than normal race effort.
My race effort is around 135-140 bpm but I’ll do my climbs at more like 150-155 bpm. Zone 3, nothing threshold or harder, only for a couple minutes, climbs aren’t more than 5-8 mins max.
Is this ok to do during the race or will I end up overbiking? Can I go any harder or should I be doing the climbs at 135-140 as well?
