Doechii arrived at the 2026 Met Gala on Monday night in New York City without a certain wardrobe piece one might have expected her to have worn. The musician decided to skip shoes for the red carpet event in favor of a barefoot look showing off an intricate henna design. Doechii wore custom Marc Jacobs for the occasion and tip-toed down the red carpet, where she explained that she purposefully got henna on her feet so she could avoid wearing heels. She did, however, wear anklets which accented the dye on her feet. This wouldn’t the first time Doechii has gone barefoot for a high-profile event. She also forwent footwear to sit front row at a Chloé fashion show in 2025.
