WASHINGTON — A Democrat vying to take down Hudson Valley Rep. Mike Lawler once championed a policy that allowed children to secretly coordinate with their school about their transgender status . During her time on the Nyack Public School Board, Rockland County Legislator Beth Davidson, who is vying for New York’s 17th Congressional District, helped pass its first policy on transgenderism, something she’s publicly touted . The policy calls for school staff to set up an optional but confidential “Gender Support Plan,” where a point person helps the student ensure that their “asserted gender identity will be accounted for and supported at school.” Beth Davidson has touted her track record on the school district’s policy.
