The westside location of Colorado Springs Pregnancy Centers, which operates under the Life Network system, was vandalized on two separate occasions in April, marking a rare occurrence, said CEO Rich Bennett. Disappointment and sadness have been the tone for staff and volunteers in the aftermath, he said. “We exist to serve women and men facing some of the most stressful and vulnerable moments of their lives. That someone would choose to target a space that provides care to women and men facing difficult times and situations is unthinkable,” Bennett said. Both cases took place overnight at the Centennial Boulevard center. The first time, vandals pelted the entrance and façade with raw eggs. During the second incident on April 25, yellow paint was splattered, defacing the front door and exterior entryway. “We’ve not had such a thing happen in this kind of way – we had overnight damage at a thrift store of ours once, but it didn’t necessarily feel targeted so much as vandalism and destruction,” Bennett said.…
