We are partnering with researchers from Cornell University on a survey that will help us understand the relationship between community norms, technology, and participation. As part of their recruitment process, they are messaging a random sample of people who have interacted with the community in different ways. You may receive a chat message from their bot, u/civilservantbot, if you participated in r/science in the past 6 months. If you received a message and don’t want to participate, please feel free to ignore it. They will send one more reminder message on June 2nd. You can ignore that too. If you want to participate, the survey takes 15 minutes to complete and will ask questions about your participation in , why you participate(d), your perception of its community norms, your experience with algorithmically generated content and recommender systems, and demographic questions.
