Tess Daly spoke about the uncertainty of her future months before she and husband Vernon Kay announced their split. On Friday (8 May), the TV power couple posted messages to their respective Instagram accounts confirming that they had separated after 23 years together . “This has not been an easy choice, but it comes from a place of mutual understanding and a shared desire for what is best for both of us,” Daly, 57, and Kay, 52, wrote. “We remain great friends and most importantly, fully committed to our roles as loving and supportive parents, which will always be our priority.” For Daly, the split comes just six months after she announced a massive change in her professional life, too, having departed from Strictly Come Dancing , which she has presented since 2004.
