When I started my project about six months ago, I was hell bent on not accepting any users that would not be willing to at least put their credit card data down even during a trial. The card will not get charged, but it was kind of a quality gate I thought to guarantee people's commitment because my startup needs the people that join to participate for it to be able to deliver on its promise.
