Nvidia just handed Chinese robot maker Unitree a prominent role in its push to accelerate humanoid development. On June 1, the chip giant unveiled a reference design that pairs a Unitree H2 Plus chassis with Sharpa’s tactile five-fingered hands and its own Jetson Thor compute. The system, built on the Isaac GR00T platform, targets academic labs. It arrives as Unitree prepares for a Shanghai listing and Chinese firms dominate global shipments. The machine stands nearly six feet tall. It weighs 150 pounds. It offers 31 degrees of freedom in the body alone. Add Sharpa’s hands with 22 more DOF and the total reaches 75. Torque ratings hit 120 Nm at the arms and 360 Nm at the legs. Payload sits at seven kilograms rated, 15 kilograms peak. A 15Ah battery delivers roughly three hours of operation. Sensors include a head stereo camera with 140-degree field of view, wrist cameras, and IMU. The compute heart is the Jetson AGX Thor T5000.…
