I was recently reading an article about a plan to power these proposed moon bases with nuclear energy. Aside from all the criticism about the budget and timeline for this whole project. I have been wondering this. What are the risks of carrying nuclear materials on a rocket. If the Rocket were to explode or have a malfunction, what would happen with these materials?
