This can either include guys born in Philly, or guys who lived there. I'm not looking for the most famous Philly fighter. That's Frazier. I'm looking for the greatest. For me it's Tommy Loughran and nobody else really comes close. Loughran was one of the greatest light heavyweights of all time. He had several wars with Harry Greb and defeated him once. His resume also includes Mickey Walker, Jimmy Slattery, Georges Carpentier, Johnny Risko, Jim Braddock, Mike McTigue, and Jimmy Delaney. His technique was incredibly ahead of its time. (I've personally studied a LOT of film of him and have incorporated a lot of his techniques.) He has wins over Baer and Sharkey at heavyweight and got a title shot against Carnera. I've never been able to track down the entire fight, but there's footage of that fight. Carnera got a wildly unpopular decision. And we know Primo was a mob-owned fighter so... Hopkins and O'Brien along with Frazier are also all-time greats from Philly.…
