The Blue Forest
For a few weeks each spring, the Hallerbos in Belgium undergoes a quiet transformation. Wild hyacinths rise from the forest floor in countless thousands, washing the woodland in an otherworldly blue. I was fortunate to wander through it on a morning when fog drifted between the beech trees, softening every edge and turning the light into something so dreamy. The forest felt suspended, hushed, dreamlike, as if I had stepped out of the ordinary world and into a magical dream world.
