After a night of tributes to the late John Sterling, the Yankees announced a more permanent one Tuesday. Beginning May 18, the team will wear memorial patches on the sleeve of its jerseys honoring Sterling, the longtime radio voice who died Monday at 87 . The patch features a microphone above Sterling’s name and will replace the “JS” the Yankees began wearing on the back of their caps Monday night.
