I'm tracking expenses in a Notion database using sub-items. Example: Parent item: Credit Card Bill Gym: -$99.85 Gas: -$200.00 Netflix: -$20.90 etc. I want the parent item's Amount field to automatically show the sum of all sub-items, while keeping the sub-items visible in the same table. I already tried using formulas, but that creates another problem: I have to hide the regular Number property and display only the Formula property. This makes it less practical when adding new expenses, because I can't easily enter values directly into the main Amount column anymore. Ideally, I'd like the parent item to automatically calculate the total from its sub-items while still allowing normal expense entries to be added quickly in the same database. Is there a way to do this natively in Notion (rollups, formulas, automations, etc.)? Thanks! submitted by /u/Substantial-Proof865 [link] [comments]
