Seth Rogen’s passion for pottery runs deep. After all, his brand of smoker-friendly homewares, Houseplant , sells an ashtray based on one he made himself on the wheel. So it’s not surprising that the creator of The Studio spends his hard-earned vacation time delving even deeper into his favorite hobby. (Okay, maybe it’s his second favorite hobby?) When Rogen and his wife, Lauren Miller, embarked on a three-and-a-half week trip to Italy, they didn’t necessarily set out to make their own pottery retreat but found themselves on one nonetheless. “We planned the trip around just doing things we like doing and we both are very into pottery,” Rogen tells AD. “Every few days had a pottery excursion of some sort.” Their extravaganza included a stop in Deruta, the medieval village in Umbria known for its intricate hand-painted maiolica. There they fell in love with the traditional craftsmanship and stocked up on everything from ashtrays (obviously) to espresso sets to giant platters.…
