In the full year since Andor ended, many have gone to view its predecessor Rogue One in a new light. With the full breadth of Cassian’s life now laid before us in TV and movie format, fan editor David Kaylor has taken it upon himself to make the film feel more like a companion to its canonical prequel. Later this month, Kaylor will release a cut of Rogue One that “re-envisions [the movie] as the finale and epilogue of Andor .” Where the original movie is from Jyn Erso’s POV, this version tells things from Cassian’s. To that end, it’ll feature the show’s musical themes and leitmotifs, employ flashbacks similar to how the show did, and be more tonally similar to Andor . And when it comes to Rogue One’s controversial CG recreations of Grand Moff Tarkin and Princess Leia, Kaylor will employ fan-made renders from deepfake creator Shamook .
