What’s your favorite thing to do when you’re surfing? “I like riding the waves, just riding them is real fun,” answered an 11-year-old Carissa Moore in her first interview in SURFER Magazine . Twenty-two years down the track and the sweet little girl from the South Shore has changed the sport and culture of surfing in innumerable ways. Most recently, after a two-year hiatus to become a mom, Moore pulled the jersey back on. Currently sitting eighth on the WSL Championship Tour’s live leaderboard, she’s embraced this next chapter with joy and a deep appreciation.
