Consumers under pressure from fuel costs

Sales at retailers rose in April for the third month in a row, but the increase stemmed in large part from drivers spending more on gas due to higher prices.

Retail receipts a seasonally adjusted 0.5% last month, the government said Thursday, an increase that matched the Wall Street estimate.
