College football star and NFL prospect Carius Curne arrested for drugs and trying to escape arrest

Star college football offensive lineman and NFL prospect Carius Curne was arrested in Arkansas for drug possession and then dangerously speeding to try to flee arrest. The 6-foot-5, 330-pound sophomore, who transferred from LSU to Ole Miss this offseason, was arrested just after 5 p.m. Saturday, according to the Crittendon County Sheriff’s Office.  Curne, 20, was charged with fleeing, reckless driving, speeding, improper lane change and possession of a Schedule VI substance of less than four ounces. He was released less than two hours after he was arrested, the Mississippi Clarion Ledger reported . If convicted of the drug charge, Curne faces up to one year in prison, a $2,500 fine and a mandatory six-month driver’s license suspension, per Arkansas state law. Curne played in eight games with LSU last year.
