I'm a lapsed cradle Catholic, so I historically have not been super tapped into what goes on with the church. But I love paegantry, so when the conclave (aka, the gathering when the cardinals meet to elect a new pope) came around last year, I was locked in. When that puff of white smoke came out of the Vatican, I had zero idea how historic their decision would be. THEY CHOSE AN AMERICAN POPE, Y'ALL!
