Stay-at-home father of one trying to build from the ground up. What can I do? Hello All, As the title states, I am a stay-at-home father of one. My fiancé is currently working and is the breadwinner of the family for now. To say this is a blow to my pride is an understatement due to my upbringing in a traditional Samoan household. I don’t have anything against women in the workforce at all, but I have to admit that I’ve never thought to myself that I would be where I am today, writing this. I’ve always found myself wanting to be the main caretaker/ breadwinner for both my fiancé and son. However due to us living in Silicon Valley (San Jose), we felt that the best financial decision regarding the caretaking of my son would be for me to stay home and be with him.
