Coursera refused to refund me because a certificate was “issued” — even though I never finished the course or used the certificate I honestly just need to vent and see if anyone else has gone through this. A few days ago, I started the free 7-day trial for Google AI Essentials on Coursera. While exploring the platform, I accidentally clicked the “Get Certificate Early” button after completing 2 modules. What I DIDN’T realize was that: My credit card information had already been saved There was basically no meaningful payment confirmation step Clicking that button would instantly trigger a paid certificate purchase I was then charged USD 29.90.
