A gunman was taken into custody following a nine-hour standoff with cops after he allegedly took a woman hostage in an affluent Beverly Hills neighborhood. An automated license plate reader identified a pick up truck belonging to a suspect wanted in the attempted murder of a sheriff’s deputy, the Beverly Hills Police Department told the California Post. After more than 9 hours, the hostage is out of the pickup truck and safe. Law enforcement engaged in a pursuit when license readers flagged the suspects vehicle at 1:30 pm. The pursuit ended in a standoff at Robertson Boulevard and Burton Way, where the man allegedly took a female hostage and barricaded them inside a vehicle, police told the Post.
