Published 11:09 am Wednesday, April 22, 2026 The public is invited to the ribbon-cutting and official opening of the Central Oregon Community College Madras campus expansion, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. April 30. The event will feature brief remarks from COCC president Greg Pereira and community partners, followed by the ribbon-cutting and self-guided tours. Light refreshments will be served. The 24,000-square-foot, two-story facility houses three training programs for nursing, nursing assistant and medical assisting, as well as the 100-slot child care facility. The early childhood education program is moving some training to the child care facility. The Madras campus originally opened in 2011, and the expansion was driven by Jefferson County’s needs in the healthcare sector.
