Someone on WhatsApp claimed to be my broker and asked for more payment—is this real?

I’m posting this because I genuinely can’t tell if I’m being paranoid or if I walked straight into something bigger. About a month ago I signed up with what looked like a legit online trading platform after seeing an ad about forex and crypto returns. Nothing crazy at first… small deposit, login details, trading dashboard, daily profit updates. It all looked professional enough that I didn’t question much. Then last week I got a WhatsApp message from someone claiming to be “my senior broker.” Profile photo looked corporate. Knew my first name. Knew how much I deposited. Even referenced trades showing inside my account, which is what really threw me off. He said my account was “close to a higher liquidity bracket” and if I added one more payment, I’d unlock larger withdrawals and faster processing. That’s when my stomach dropped. Because up until that moment, every conversation had been through the platform… now suddenly I’m being pushed through WhatsApp?…
