Head of Police Federation of England and Wales suspended

The CEO of the Police Federation of England and Wales has been suspended following his arrest as part of a fraud investigation. In a statement on Monday, the federation confirmed Mukund Krishna had been suspended from his role "due to an ongoing police investigation". A man understood to be Mr Krishna, 46, was arrested by City of London Police last Wednesday on suspicion of fraud by abuse of power. A 51-year-old man from Wales, and a 55-year-old man from Bristol - both of whom either currently or formerly held senior roles in the federation - were also arrested on the same charge. The Police Federation previously said it was "cooperating fully with the relevant authorities". Officers also carried out search warrants in Wales, Somerset, London and Surrey last week. All three were subsequently interviewed and released on conditional bail pending further enquiries. The federation represents more than 145,000 rank-and-file officers, up to and including the rank of chief inspector as well as special constables.…
