I play in a band with friends. the vocalists often decide the last minute they need to sing in a different key and just capo their guitars. most of the time I can transpose on the fly. I find that 2 half steps are easy, 2 whole steps is kind of do able but often need to be played on a different string. however, a key change from C to EB, 3 half steps, is really hard for me to play, especially this is for very melodic bass line for a Beattles song.
