There is soooo much misinformation and propaganda in the US, just woven into everyday life. Of course, this isn’t helped by the current administration — but it goes way beyond any one moment or political party. As Americans, we tend to think of propaganda as something that happens in dictatorships, not something we’re susceptible to. We like to see ourselves as free thinkers…but a lot of what we believe is shaped by incomplete education, selective information, and the influence of corporate and political interests. The idea that tax cuts or bailouts for the wealthy will stimulate the economy (aka "trickle-down economics") is, at best, a failed experiment and, at worst, an all-out deception.
