Delhi court news: A Delhi court recently acquitted a police inspector in a corruption case arising out of the 2014 Aaj Tak sting operation aired under the programme “Operation Delhi Police”, stating that mere utterance of certain words by the reporter, without contextual proof, could not establish a bribery offence under the Prevention of Corruption Act. Special Judge Vidya Prakash of the Rouse Avenue Court was hearing the plea of Rajender Singh Naruka and noted that the prosecution’s case suffered major evidentiary gaps, including the non-production of the original recording device, hostile witnesses, and the death of journalist Akshay Singh, who had allegedly conducted the sting operation, during the proceedings.  “Mere use of words by the reporter “ bhai sahab ye ‘dus hajar rupay’ hain, oh, ‘panch hajar rupay hain’ ye, lekin bhai sahab ye hai aur dusra issue ye hai ki FIR na ho (this is ten thousand rupees… oh, this is five thousand rupees, but sir, the other issue is that no FIR should be…
