Law graduate with a PGP in data science, 5 years in, stuck on how to grow. Advice? I finished my law school in 2019 but did not enjoy legal practice, so I pivoted into data and completed a PGP in Data Science from IIIT Bangalore in 2024 alongside full-time work. 5 years in, I currently work in financial analytics at a European SaaS unicorn. I built ML models in production, improved our GDPR PII governance framework from scratch using my legal background, and led India regulatory compliance work including RBI mandates. I am the sole owner of the global payments. Despite all of this, I am earning ₹14.4 LPA which is around 14000 eur/year or 15000 usd/year which feels significantly below market for the scope. I am genuinely uncertain how to grow from here. A few specific questions: 1. Has anyone here moved from a similar legal-plus-data background into higher paying roles? What worked for you? 2. What kind of roles or companies should I be targeting given the legal-plus-data combination?…
