Vouch Atlas is a decidely unscientific study of fear: fear of your laptop being stolen. The question is "Would you leave your laptop unattended in a coffee shop here for 10 minutes?" and the answers speak for themselves. Antarcticans are duly confident about the wellbeing of laptops left at coffee shops there. Reputationally low-scoring are Phillipines, Argentina, Romania, Pakistan, Morocco and South Africa, with Egypt, Italy, Mexico and Israel almost as red-hued on the map. Inhabited places scoring highest include South Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, Iceland, Finland, Japan and Switzerland, with Estonia, Indonesia and Croatia a shade shadier. The U.S., Britain, France and Brazil and Russia all sit at about 70% risky; Germany, Canada, China and Australia have slightly safer reputations; Spain a slightly worse one.
