Dua Lipa is suing electronics maker Samsung for $15 million, claiming the company has utilized her image to sell TVs without her permission. The Grammy-winning, dance-pop singer filed the copyright and trademark infringement lawsuit in California federal court May 8th alleging Samsung is using her photo on television boxes without her permission to push sales. “Samsung’s infringing conduct — using Ms. Lipa’s assets for zero consideration — makes a mockery of her hard work in establishing a successful brand and has deprived her of the ability to control and monetize her assets,” the lawsuit said. With her carefully curated brand and image, Lipa wouldn’t have leant her photo to sell the televisions, according to her attorneys. The lawsuit includes an image of what it says is the infringing television box. On the box is a photograph of Lipa backstage at Austin City Limits in 2024, which the complaint said is a copyrighted image owned by the singer.…
