During the spring/summer/fall months I bicycle to the beach almost daily. I lock the bike on the boardwalk and it stays there in the salt air all day until I am ready to go home (usually around 8 hours later). Of course the bike rusts and after 5 - 6 years it is unrecognizable as a bike (LOL). So, with that abuse in mind, do you think it is worth paying more for a Schwinn Sanctuary 7 Cruiser vs a Huffy Madeira Cruiser? Basically I beat the heck out of the bike until it is unrideable and instead of constantly fixing it I plan to buy a new, cheap replacement. (BYW, I do have completely babied Cannodale with Dura Ace components for long rides/tours and is NEVER locked anywhere near the beach).
