Published 5:30 am Thursday, April 23, 2026 The Redmond Police Department is adding an evidence storage facility to its north Redmond public safety facility. City council finalized the approval of a $494,150 contract to Central Builders LLC to build the new 4,000-square-foot facility while acting as the contract review board in its April 14 meeting. To reduce cost, Scott Brang, procurement manager for the city, recommended the use of an alternative contracting method that will enable early contractor involvement and real-time cost savings. Initial estimates for the new building were around $900,000, so the city was able to save a considerable amount of money by using the updated contracting method. “But with value engineering, talking with Central Builders, along with moving the initial site, we were able to bring that down to ensure transparency and compliance,” Brang said during the meeting.…
