Most hiking apps (OS Maps, AllTrails, Komoot) lock GPX exporting behind subscriptions. I wanted something simple: pick a start and end point generate a real footpath‑based route see the elevation profile download the GPX/GeoJSON No subscription and no tracking. Crest uses OpenStreetMap data, a custom A* routing engine, and now includes elevation profiles via Chart.js.
