A fellow diner, upon overhearing that we were celebrating my 83rd birthday, generously and anonymously paid for our meal, including the gratuity. We were speechless, grateful and especially uplifted because the day had begun with my having attended the funeral services of a childhood friend. In the midst of turmoil, there are still kind people who demonstrate that connections and goodwill still exist. The meal was delicious, and we will definitely pay the gesture forward. Many thanks! RANT to dog poop. Dear dog owners, I don’t l blame you for not wanting to carry your smelly, stinky bag of dog droppings all the way back to your house. Guess what?
