This is my first post here and I'm genuinely curious about this subject. I work in a restaurant and have worked in one my whole working career. I'm 25 years old, I've been working my current kitchen job for about a year and a half now. I barely call out sick but when I do I know I damn well can't get of bed because of depression or I'm actually sick. Whenever I do call the restaurant and ask for a manager and tell them that I'm sick and I'm going to stay home they always reply with "what are the symptoms?" I usually reply. I ask this because this happened today and I've been dealing with a migrane since 4 and naseua because of it. And she said since you're only having a migrane you could still come I'm. I'm so confused by this and she told me let me know if you decide to come in or not. Please help me understand why they do this. (also this is the first place that I've worked that has asked this question)
