LAKEWOOD – Nathan Moller visualized a best-case scenario for his final state meet. Reality was even better. The Palmer Ridge senior and UCCS signee cleared the pack at 6-foot-7 to secure the 4A boys’ high jump crown. Then he took the bar up to 6-10 and, with the full support of Jeffco Stadium, cruised over that bar as well. “I was fired up,” Moller said. “I came down off the mat and didn’t know what to think. I went to teammates, went to coaches. I was just celebrating. It was really fun. “This was perfect.” Better than perfect. He figured 6-7, which had stood as his previous personal best, would be the winning mark. He pictured that in his mind. And that proved to be correct. A group of seven jumpers – including Moller’s familiar foes, Coronado’s Lyrik Smith and Mesa Ridge’s Josiah Garcia – cleared 6-5. After missing on his first try, Moller was the only one of the seven to make it over at 6-7. “In my head it wasn’t complicated because I’ve done it before and I just wanted it to come through,” he explained.…
