The water pours through the holes in the top gutter and on to the roof, allowing it to flow to the lower gutter. I've read that this can cause premature deterioration of the shingles where the water exits from the top gutter. Can I slide a piece of gutter up under the upper gutter and fasten the piece to the upper gutter so the water will flow to the lower gutter through the piece of gutter? The gutter piece would lay much the same way the tape is laying in the photos. Will this cause some other problem that I'm not aware of?…
