Ella Bright has joined the elite club of actors who put on such a convincing American accent that fans truly had no idea they didn’t grow up in the USA.

Turns out Ella—who was actually born in the States before moving as a little kid—has a pretty strong British accent, which you can listen to here:

During an interview withIsland Magazine, Ella explained, “I find it cool that I get to tell people I was born in New York, as I have a British accent, so nobody would know. Both my parents have American accents, though, so sometimes it kind of throws people off when they hear us speak together!”

She also noted that she’s “fully American—both my parents are American and I spent about the first five years of my life between New York and London.”

Honestly, not surprised she does an American accent so well considering that 1) she worked with a vocal coach to nail Hannah’s singing in Off Campus, and 2) both her parents are American. Still, though, deeply impressed by her skills!
