Aldi has recalled a popular dessert in the U.S. over a potential contamination with a foreign object, posing a serious safety risk to consumers. According to an enforcement report from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, more than 2,800 cases of Specially Selected Vanilla Crème Brûlée were recalled on April 14 because they may have contained pieces of glass. On April 28, the FDA elevated the recall to a Class II, which means that eating or using the affected items can pose a serious health risk, according to the agency . The recalled sweet treat, packed in 3.6-ounce glass jars, was sold at Aldi stores in seven states: Florida, Illinois, Indiana, Maryland, Michigan, New York and Virginia. Affected items, manufactured by Lactalis Canada, have the use by date of May 9, 2026, product number 710298-4099100342826 and barcode number 4099100342826.…
