The answer, in most cases, is that your systems weren't designed to talk to each other. That's worth fixing. What a Biometric Time Clock Actually Does A biometric time clock captures a fingerprint, iris scan, or facial recognition to verify identity and record a timestamp. The employee walks up, authenticates, and the system logs "Employee 247 clocked in at 08:03 AM." That's useful. It eliminates buddy punching — where one employee clocks in for another — and gives you an accurate, verifiable attendance record. But it does nothing for your door.
