Chelsea Clinton finished the Boston Marathon on Monday in 3:40:52, an average pace of 8:26 per mile. At the finish line on Boylston Street, Clinton was met by two familiar faces—her parents, Hillary and Bill Clinton—who awarded her a shiny gold finisher’s medal. Chelsea, 46, also insisted her parents give medals to the police officers who ran alongside her for the race, which they did. Chelsea also ran with her friend, Jen Kloss. The Boston Athletic Association told Runner’s World that after the race, Clinton said she had an “amazing race” and had “so much fun out there.” Clinton completed the first half of the race in 1:49:41, then ran 1:51:11 for the back half of the course, which is notoriously hilly. The conditions were ideal for marathoning on Monday, with temperatures hovering in the high 40 and low 50s.
