Help with arc blow I’m in school for my second level apprenticeship right now and working on a horizontal grove fillet weld for smaw with a backing plate for the CWB test but I keep getting arc blow really bad like a massive crater forms and the rod just cuts a hole in the plate while the puddle gets blown everywhere. How can I prevent or deal with this I’ve tried all the things for arc blow like move the ground closer or farther to the piece or on the right or left side of the plate I’ve added extra grounds on both sides of the plate, tried cooling the ground cable around the piece in right and left hand spirals, twisting the whip and ground cable together nothing seems to work. I only get arc blow on 3/5 beads but it’s always in the last inch or two of plate so far I’ve been turning the stick to a push direction when it happens to kinda keep filling but it seems to be weak as I keep failing the bend tests.…
