My friends and family have watched in amusement as I, a rock and roller who loves to dance late into the night at The Stone Pony, have fallen in love with runDisney. I’ve never worn a tutu or glitter, but I did cry when I ran down Main Street at Disney World. There, my vivid imagination comes to life. Instead of thinking about my pace or how many miles I am running, I get lost in a world of pirates and fairy godmothers, castles and jungle cruises.Keeping these fantastic illusions alive is especially helpful during my training runs. Knowing that my long weekend miles will eventually take me around the 11 countries of Epcot or through the playful joy of Toy Story Land keeps me on the road and treadmill.While not every runner takes runDisney as seriously as I do, that may change now that Des Linden, 2018 Boston Marathon champion, two-time Olympian, and 50K world record holder, raced—and won—the women’s race at the 2026 Disney Princess half marathon.…
