Sport Netball Former Silver Fern Gina Crampton is the latest player to return to the ANZ Premiership this season. Crampton, who had a long tenure with the Southern Steel and later the Northern Stars, has signed a two-week contract with the Mainland Tactix as injury cover for captain Erikana Pedersen. Pedersen has been managing a shoulder injury since the defending champions’ clash against the Waikato-Bay of Plenty Magic in round three. Crampton recently wrapped up with the NSW Swifts, where she provided maternity cover for Australian Diamond Paige Hadley, and previously signed with the Giants in 2025 before going on maternity leave herself. The 34-year-old last played in New Zealand in 2023 after taking extended leave to join her partner, former All Black Sevens and Otago back Fa’asiu Fuatai, who was playing overseas. Tactix coach Donna Wilkins said Crampton, who amassed 70 caps for the Silver Ferns from 2016 to 2023, added experience to their mid court. “Gina is going to be huge for us” Wilkins said.…
